Chair — Scott Westbrook

Scott Westbrook brings practical leadership, technical judgment, and community-minded service to FARM127. His experience with permitting, project review, and local process helps the board think carefully about housing, facilities, safety, and long-term stewardship.

Alyssa Brown

Alyssa Brown brings a strong foundation in social work, youth development, and practical service to the FARM127 board. She first connected with this work as an intern and holds a bachelor’s degree in social work. Today, she works with UNC Charlotte’s Department of Social Work, where she helps support the next generation of social work professionals. Alyssa’s experience helps FARM127 stay grounded in dignity, care, and the real-life support young adults need as they move toward independence.

Jackie Garcia

Jackie Garcia brings deep compassion, clinical insight, and firsthand foster care experience to the FARM127 board. She holds a master’s degree in social work and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Jackie serves as a therapist and Clinical Assistant Professor at UNC Charlotte, where she helps prepare and support future social work professionals. As a former foster parent, she understands both the beauty and complexity of caring for children and young adults who have experienced instability. Her perspective helps FARM127 stay grounded in dignity, trust, emotional health, and practical support for young adults moving toward independence.

Sterling Karnan

Sterling Karnan brings practical problem-solving and an operational mindset to the board. His perspective helps FARM127 stay focused on the hands-on realities of housing, maintenance, safety, and sustainable support.

Doc Reed

Doc Reed brings creative leadership, brand strategy, and storytelling experience to the board. Through his work in design, illustration, branding, and nonprofit communications, he helps FARM127 communicate its mission with clarity, warmth, and credibility.

Grace Mercer Schott

Grace Mercer Schott brings legal experience, governance discipline, and philanthropic board experience to FARM127. As Board Secretary, she helps strengthen the organization’s stewardship, documentation, and long-term accountability.
