A steady place to take your next step.
FARM127 helps young adults aging out of foster care move toward housing stability, practical support, mentorship, and community.
Applying for FARM127 support
If you are 18–22, aging out of foster care, and living in the greater Charlotte area, FARM127 may be able to help you take the next step toward housing stability, practical support, mentorship, and community.
Support may include help with housing, basic needs, life skills, budgeting, education, career next steps, trusted local referrals, and one-on-one mentorship.
The process
The process can move quickly, but timing depends on current availability, housing options, and how quickly we are able to communicate with each other.
01 - Apply
Fill out the FARM127 application online.
02 - Meet and talk
We will schedule a conversation to learn more about your situation, your goals, and whether FARM127 may be a good fit.
03 - Sign and start
If it is a fit, we will walk through a clear agreement together so you understand what FARM127 offers and what responsibilities come with receiving support.
04 - Get support
Once support begins, we will talk through housing options, mentorship, practical needs, and other next steps.
What we offer
Before support begins, we want to make sure the relationship is clear, respectful, and honest.
That is why FARM127 uses a Young Adult Agreement. The agreement explains what support may be available, what responsibilities come with that support, and what expectations help keep the relationship safe and trustworthy.
The goal is not control. The goal is clarity, accountability, and support as you grow toward independent adulthood.
-
We believe that Jesus Christ changes lives. While we can offer housing, mentorship, practical support, and community, we believe true transformation comes from Him.
You are welcome here whether you share our beliefs or not. Our team follows Jesus, and our faith shapes how we serve, encourage, and care for others. You'll hear us talk about Him often, but no one is required to share our faith to receive support.
-
Housing comes first. FARM127 helps young adults explore realistic housing options, understand monthly costs, and work toward a safe, stable place to stay. When funding is available, monthly rent support may be offered as part of that plan.
-
We know you might need some things to feel safe and cared for. We can help with that.
-
Life skills take practice. FARM127 helps young adults build everyday habits like keeping appointments, communicating clearly, setting boundaries, saying no, managing emotions, and following through. These skills are part of adulthood, and most of us are still growing in them.
-
We can connect you with educational opportunities and provide financial assistance for any costs associated with training or course work.
-
We have mentors ready to create long lasting, supportive relationships. Mentors do not you tell you what to do or how you should be living your life - they walk along side of you and support you as you take the next right step.
-
We have partnerships with other non-profits in the community and will help you get connected to any of their services and programing.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
We are not a government program. We are not an institution. We are not here to “fix” people in our own strength.
FARM127 is a community of Christ followers seeking to obey His call to care for the fatherless and make disciples. Our faith does not mean we are perfect. In fact, we know we are broken too. That is why we do not place our hope in better systems, stronger effort, or our ability to change someone’s life.
We believe real healing, growth, and purpose come from God. Our role is to create a safe, steady, Christ-centered place where young adults are seen, supported, discipled, and reminded that they are made in the image of God. We walk alongside them with practical help, honest relationships, and patient encouragement—trusting God to do the deeper work only He can do.
-
All you have to do is sign an agreement that helps us define our relationship with you. We want the very best for you so there are certain things that we ask of you in order to make sure you are growing and being responsible.
-
Yes, this agreement is a contract in the sense that it clearly explains what FARM127 is offering, what you are agreeing to, and what expectations need to be met for services to continue.
But this is not the kind of contract that is meant to trap you, control you, or force you to “give” FARM127 something. You are not signing away your rights. You are not promising money, labor, or anything that belongs to you. You are also not required to stay in FARM127 services if you no longer want support.
The purpose of this agreement is clarity. FARM127 wants you to know what support may be available, what responsibilities come with that support, and what kinds of behavior could cause services to be paused or ended.
By signing, you are saying: “I understand what FARM127 is offering, I understand what is expected of me, and I agree to participate honestly and respectfully while receiving support.”
FARM127’s goal is not to punish you. The goal is to create a safe, trustworthy, and supportive environment where everyone knows what to expect.
-
You do not have to sign the FARM127 agreement. We want your participation to be honest and voluntary, not pressured. The agreement simply explains what FARM127 offers, what we ask of participants, and how we work together. If another program is a better fit for you, we want you to know about that option too.
-
We love you enough to hold you accountable to your word. If the agreement is broken, FARM127 may pause or end services depending on the situation. Our goal is not punishment. Our goal is safety, trust, accountability, and growth.
Your mentor will always be there for you regardless of your FARM127 agreement status. We want you to always be supported so the mentor relationship is designed to outlast your time with FARM127 (if you chose to engage the relationship - we wont force it).
Also, if you change your mind and want to leave the program at any time you are welcome to do so.
